Chengdu is also a very large city - 14 million people spread out over a large area mostly living in small flats in huge skyscrapers.
We went to Jinli Street, rebuilt to look as it did hundreds of years ago but with lots of little shops and food stalls. And Starbucks (see the sign in Chinese above). Lots of young adults hanging out - see & be seen. Very nice except for the soldiers (one with a semi-automatic standing on a balcony).
We went to the Sichuan Opera House for tea and a Chinese variety show. Very enjoyable!
