Yep - we walked on the Great Wall of China. The area we visited was an hour north of Beijing and was quite touristy with gift shops, photo booths, and lots of people. The Wall is amazing though and it is so cool to walk on a wall built 2000 years ago.
The area is very mountainous and the Wall isn't a straight shot. It goes up and down this rocky area with towers at the top of each hill. This makes the ancient engineering very impressive.
We did find a quiet spot with an ancient temple surrounded by lovely gardens where we enjoyed a drink and cool down after our climb.
The area would be absolutely stunning if it wasn't for the gray blanket of smog.
